Duplicates can enter the database from many sources, such as imported lists, partially filled out webforms or incorrect data entry.   To combat this we have added a range of additional functions to help reduce duplication of records.

Runway features a new record process that runs a check on the entire database to identify possible duplicates or related records, say a spouse or if they have worked for another company. Runway will present a summary of possible duplicates before you fill in all the information about the contact again.

When importing records, Runway provides a sophisticated importing function that identifies possible duplicates and easy and quick-to-use record merge function.

With customers creating their own records via web forms, Runway can performs that same check to identify duplicates. If an exact match is found,Runway adds a new product status and source to the existing centralised record. If a suspect match is generated, an exception report will highlight a duplicate and provide a database managing the choice of merging or relating or adding the new record.

As a last form of defense, Runway?s data hunter crawls through the data in downtime to hunt down and identify duplicate, possible relationships between customers or missing data - presenting the database administrator in the morning with a list of possible duplicates.
